Hey there, Dear Heart,

Snowy landscape with bare trees silhouetted by a sunset. Golden sunlight casts long shadows over the snow, creating a tranquil scene in Vermont

Deepest gratitude for joining us this Imbolc and sharing your magic in the circle. We hope your transition home was smooth and you’re settling in with songs on your lips, seeds of ideas in your belly, and embers stoked in your heart.

Bouquet of pink and red flowers with green leaves, surrounded by candles on a white tablecloth. Warm, intimate setting.

MotherBone (Tish) wants to remind us:

“ [To keep] our key ancient wisdom and relationship with sacred roots ‘warm.’ Keeping material ‘warm’ is part of wild women's nature - the aim is to remain close - through attention, inquiry, slow spaciousness, curiosity, singing to, and speaking to. It's about deepening and directing energy toward, rather than adding more to your to-do list. "

Excerpt from "The Ancient Ones" by Patricia Reis on a beige background with leaf shadows. Text emphasizes remembrance and return.

Gaby brought us somatic movement &

offered some home practices:

3 Foundations of Somatic Experiencing (SE):

  • Orient - around the space you're in, take in the shapes, colors, textures, smells, locate the exit is and allow your head to turn side to side so the motor sensory nerves "turn on"

  • Slow down - Practice slowing down in the moment, especially when feeling negative activation in the nervous system (i.e. anxiety). Observe the body's temperature, heart rate, breathing, and sensations and let go of judgment.

  • Resource - Connect with an object that is pleasant in the space you are in, inside or outside. Take in any appealing aspects of it, appreciate and enjoy it. Notice what happens in your body when you slow down to enjoy the object. Connecting an enjoyable visual to sensation, our nervous systems shifting to create an "Embodied Resource".

3 Ways to Stimulate + Tone the Vagus Nerve

  • Chant, hum, sing, create vibration in the throat, chest and belly with sound.

  • Gargle water daily and notice sensations in jaw, mouth, neck, throat before & after

  • Massage around ears, jaw hinge, and sides of neck on the SCM muscles
