Preparing for the Retreat

WINTER 2018 RETREAT @ ROCK POINT CENTER

Depending on if you are coming for the ‘Single day of Nourishment’ or the’ Entire weekend of Bliss‘ please take a moment to read the list below to be most prepared

Rock Point is located in private woods in Burlington Vt. They have incredible hiking trails and access to the lake. For more info about Rock Point; check out http://www.RockPointvt.org. The address is 20 Rock Point Road in Burlington 802.658.6233

For your time here with us, you should consider bringing certain things so you can be prepared for anything…

Seeing as we are meeting in the end of February, its going to be rather cold and snowy. I would suggest bringing warm *snow gear; *snow pants, *warm jacket, *mittens/gloves, *hats, *good boots. 

There are really beautiful trails there so if you are feeling inspired to get out and explore them and have *snowshoes and *poles, *hiking stick and/or *ice cleats or yak tracks,  I would recommend bringing them with you.

Once you get arrive at the retreat center, you will notice things a bit spread out. There are 3 buildings that we will be retreating out of….

There is the main building which will host our food, some lodging, and the places where healers/massages will be. This is where you will enter, check in and ground before opening circle. We will then direct you to the main classroom, you will have to go outside (about 30 steps), and that is where most of the workshops will be. (As well as some of the vendors/apothecary and a few private sessions). There is one last building and that is where the rest of the lodging is…and where we will have a lounge space and host a few more vendors.

Because you will have to go outside to get to each building, we highly recommend bringing a nice pair of *slip on boots (Uggs, Bogs, Mocs etc) to pull on and take off when you arrive in the building as well as something with really good traction if you want to journey into the woods more

A few other things that will be helpful

*Slippers for inside use

*Notebook and pen/cil to take notes from workshops, peoples contact info etc

A few of our classes will require sitting for any given length of time, there are some chairs there but if you would prefer a *low sitting chair, *cushion or *backjack etc please bring that with you for extra comfort

We will be offering YOGA with Fletcher Sunday morning, so please bring:

*Yoga mat  *clothes to stretch in *if you typically use blocks or straps for your yoga practice, bring them with you

We will be offering BELLY DANCING with Savanah Saturday evening, so please bring:

*comfortable clothes to dance in and perhaps something fun to tie around your waist (bells etc) to shimmy around in…

Saturday evening we will be having a live music jam session. So please bring your *drums, *guitars, *shakers, *instruments….

also bring your favorite *song, or *poem or *chant to share

There are a lot of cozy spaces to lounge here so it may be nice to have a *throw or a cozy*blanket with you…

There is a going to be a knitting area in the lounge; which will serve as our winter offering (kinda like the earth loom), a community weaving of prayers and intention setting so if you have an *extra skein that you would like to contribute, bring that too!

For overnight accommodations, each room will have fresh sheets, pillows, blankets and towels. Each room also has its own thermostat in it so you can control how warm you like it…

Please bring a *headlamp, or * flashlight

*extra layers of clothing to support you being the most cozy and feeling true to your most nourishing self…we are going to be retreating together so bring things that make you feel comfortable and beautiful and well, fun to move around in

* Water bottle

*business cards and ways to keep in touch with your new and old friends

GOOD INFO TO KNOW

**There will be a Marketplace to shop, so I would suggest bringing some cash to treat yourself to a little something special. There will be Jewelry, Crystals and Gemstones, Herbal Medicines and Essential Oils, Flower Essences, Natural Bodycare Products, Art, Chocolates, granola etc

**There also will be several beautiful areas reserved for Healing sessions….We have a tribe of incredible ladies offering bodywork, wellness consultations, tarot/divination. For more info, look under  the ‘Additional Offerings’ here on the website and make sure to book yourself a little session with one or several of these incredible sisters. Sessions are usually between $30-$60, so I highly recommend hooking yourself up while you are on at the lodge to make it that much more special and transformative….

 

 

 

 

 

~~~~~~~~~~~~~SUMMER RETREATS AT WILLOW CROSSING FARM~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Regardless of the weather forecast, we will be prepared to move forward with the retreat RAIN or SHINE! We have a large classroom, big tents, a 30ft and a 16ft Yurt, and tons of covered shelters for classes and workshops, so don’t be afraid of a little weather:) In fact it tends to bring sisters together even more and add a touch of adventure to the weekend:)

~Once you have registered and paid, it becomes official…your space is saved and you are well on your way to attending this amazing nourishing retreat ~*~ Congrats for honoring the art of self care and gifting yourself this unforgettable experience!!  Now is the time to think about what you will need to start gathering for the big weekend. Here is a list that may be helpful, (and probably a bit overboard) BUT non the less, here are several things that I think would be really useful to have with you while camping with us at Willow Crossing Farm.

*Bathing Suit

*Towel

*Yoga Mat

*Yoga clothes

*2+ days of comfortable clothes-knowing the weather in Vt…it could be really hot and sunny or chilly and wet? so come prepared for both….i suggest packing anything that makes you feel super comfortable….flowy clothes that allow you to move about and dance and/or sit for any given amount of time. (We will be doing both)

*Water bottle

*Plate, bowl, mug, cup, utensils….(we ask for you to use your own all weekend to cut down on work for the chefs in the kitchen)

*drum (for our drumming workshop) or *any kind of musical instruments

*tent/tarps…typical camping supplies

*sleeping bag/sleeping pad/pillow/blankets etc

*sunhat

*sunscreen

*bug spray (and extra layers of clothes cause the bugs have been intense this year with all this rain!!)

*proper footwear…there is a river for swimming, trails for hiking, lots of open ground for walking about but things can be a bit sharp for bare feet. There also is some poison Ivy on the land, it will be pointed out but again, come prepared

 

OPTIONAL:

~If you happen to have a surplus of veggies or fruits or herbs coming out of your garden this time of year, feel free to make an offering to the chef crew and they will transform your homegrown creations into nourishment for the weekend

~Please bring a few fresh or dried flowers, to donate to the art area where we will be making flower crowns and smudge wands

~Travel Chair, blanket or Cushion to sit on during lectures

~biz cards, stuff for networking and staying in touch with all these amazing ladies once you leave

~camera

~poem/chant/song to share

~journal or notebook with pen/pencil to take notes during lectures
